Amber Heard and Ayn Rand

12 Apr

It seems a lot of people in Hollywood seem to be obsessed with their own selves. Amber Heard has identified herself as an atheist. Atheists do not believe in God or the “Devil”, she’s an Ayn Rand fan. Ayn Rand…..has views some people find questionable.

In order to extend the concept of egoism as far as she(Rand) wants it to go, Rand interprets actions and emotions as egotistical that most people would consider altruistic, like the love and concern people show for family members and friends.

Rand’s atheism (or agnosticism) and her view that religion is something evil are offensive to many people, as is her optimism about the potential of human beings to be virtuous on their own and achieve happiness in this life. Maybe for people like Nietzsche and Rand, God is indeed dead, but that just isn’t true for the majority of the population, even for those who are not practicing members of religions.

Rand and her “Objectivism” is a reactionary philosophy that is mainly used to justify selfishness, and anti-social individualism. In Rand’s metaphysical, psychological, and moral worlds, the only entity that has any real legitimacy is the individual.

As a matter of fact Ayn Rand had some strong words about Native Americans. Johnny Depp has shown to be proud of his Native American heritage. Rand’s quote on Native Americans:

“[The Native Americans] didn’t have any rights to the land and there was no reason for anyone to grant them rights which they had not conceived and were not using…. What was it they were fighting for, if they opposed white men on this continent? For their wish to continue a primitive existence, their “right” to keep part of the earth untouched, unused and not even as property, just keep everybody out so that you will live practically like an animal, or maybe a few caves above it. Any white person who brought the element of civilization had the right to take over this continent.”

Furthermore she says: “Now, I don’t care to discuss the alleged complaints American Indians have against this country. I believe, with good reason, the most unsympathetic Hollywood portrayal of Indians and what they did to the white man. They had no right to a country merely because they were born here and then acted like savages. you can’t claim one should respect the “rights” of Indians, when they had no concept of rights and no respect for rights. But let’s suppose they were all beautifully innocent savages–which they certainly were not. For their wish to continue a primitive existence; for their “right” to keep part of the earth untouched–to keep everybody out so they could live like animals or cavemen. Any European who brought with him an element of civilization had the right to take over this continent, and it’s great that some of them did. The racist Indians today–those who condemn America–do not respect individual rights.”

In 2007, Heard told USA Today that she was introduced to the writings of Rand by a boyfriend and became “I’ve been obsessed with her ideals.” In true Objectivist form, Heard also said, “All I’ve ever needed is myself.” -AH

Taken from Marilyn Manson who has been very outspoken about his beliefs, said this about Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan. Seen here, the philosophy of Satanism is very similar to Objectivism (Ayn Rand’s beliefs):

Running With the Devil, by Marilyn Manson

“What nearly everybody in my life—from my black magic-dabbling high school friends to my Christian schoolteachers—had misunderstood about Satanism was that it is not about ritual sacrifices, digging up graves, and worshipping the devil. The devil doesn’t exist. Satanism is about worshipping yourself, because you are responsible for your own good and evil.” -MM

but LaVey had this to say on Rand when speaking about the Satanic Bible that he authored:

Some accuse LaVey of paraphrasing the Nine Satanic Statements from Rand’s Atlas Shrugged without acknowledgement, though others maintain that LaVey was simply drawing inspiration from the novel.[27][28] LaVey later affirmed the connection with Rand’s ideas by stating that LaVeyan Satanism was “just Ayn Rand’s philosophy, with ceremony and ritual added”.[29]

Will not sure about the company Johnny keeps… but I completely believe that Amber is all about self. I like to called that narcissistic and not sure if it is someone I would like to spend the rest of my life with… can you really believe that they could love someone other than them self.
What the hell… you would think Johnny would have a serious discussion around the whole native rights comments. Either she weasel her way around that or Johnny is full of it …
Either way not interested in reading any of Any Rand literature …. I think there are probably better things to read.
Lastly, if amber thinks modelling is so mindless, why did she do it and continues to do whatever she can… she such a lying
sack of shit… sounds like someone is very jealous and I’m sure if Chanel asked her to model for them she would do it in a heartbeat.

I agree with all you points but one, why would you be sad for JD. He’s an adult man, if this is the company he enjoys most, well that tells us something about this guy, right? Show me your friends and I tell you who you are. The whole 180-degrees-turner from bohemian, faithful family man to hard drinking sugardaddy is quite impressive and shows very little respect for the feelings of his family, so maybe also JD might actually live under the premise of ‘just needing himself’ (and evtl. a bottle or two).

TY for your comment. Nice point.

She’s an atheist and his friend is a satanist.
JD is a satanist too. He is adept of the umbanda/candomblé/macumba. The proof is his SALVE OGUM tattoo. SALVE OGUM = HAIL OGUM.
Ogum is an african entity very popular here among afro-brazilian people and they make animals and even human sacrifices to Ogum to gain fame and fortune. JD is what we call here in Brazil a “macumbeiro” (voodoo maker).
And it’s very weird that a macumbeiro married an atheist. Not surprised that it didn’t last.

Interesting Babi, thanks for your feedback.

I think Amber does not deserve much credit for her ideas, no matter which they are.

Ayn Rand lived and grew up in the communist Russia and she refused to be part of a group, she wanted to be herself, but her ideas developed supporting only the “Me” and that “Me” should always be at the center of everything.

People selfish as Amber love to see and to have excuses in Ayn’s philosophy to support their sickly selfishness.
